So last week was kinda crazy Elder Harker left to do splits Monday
night and got back Friday it was like this...
Mon- We take the bus at 8:00pm to Mafra
Tues-7:30am Elder Cavachini and I came back to Sao Bento
Wed-7:30am Elder Harker goes to Joinville/
8:00pm I go to Mafra
Thur- I stay in Mafra
Fri-7:00am I go to Joinville to pick up Harker
2:30 We get the bus going to Sao Bento
4:22 We get back to the apartment super tired
The thing is, that we didn't know it was going down like that
So Harker only brought the clothes on his back and same with me
Wow 175 people at an activity! We're happy when we get 40

SO ELDER PACK went to the island (Mission Home) to be an LZ (Zone Leader) his last transfer and I
got a new comp, Elder Harker. He has 1 transfer more than me. He is 23 from Utah, Salt Lake Valley. He's a pretty good guy and a pretty good missionary. We had a baptism last week, a girl named Grace. She is 19 and I'm amazed that she decided to be baptized but I´m amazed almost every time I have a baptism. It's really the Lord doing the work because there is no way it's anything I do that gets people to change their lives and decide the join the church.

I would like it a lot if you could send me a new memory card I have a ton of photos but they all fit on one card so I haven't sent any home yet. Maybe I'll figure out a way to send them home next week. I need to buy a card reader to do it though.

So we´ll see. Well that's about it in a nut shell.

Subject: Elder Millyard 19/07/2010

So this week has been good. There was an activity at the church Saturday and everyone dressed up like hill-billys but we (me and Elder Pack) didn't have time to dress up so we're lame but the party was still pretty cool. Sunday we had like 50 people in church I know that dosen't sound like alot but we were pretty happy. We also had 6 investigators so hopefully we will end the month with some baptisms. Ya, I remember Brother Klienman, Dad and I were his home teachers for awhile. That's cool that you all are talking about testifying now (I bet next fast and testimony meeting you all will feel guilty if you don't go up.)

Ed, how was Sea World? Did any of the kids get their fish stolen by a bird? When I went some sea gull came down and stole all the fish I had to feed the animals with! haha! You should be able to compress the video of you and Blaine and send it to me just use winzip. You might have to text it to your email first or if you have a card you can do it that way. If its really small you don't need to compress it you could probably just text it to your email (just put your email in where you could put the phone number) then from your email just forward it to me. The stuff you guys sent is working out great. I'm not very good at making balloon animals still but it's fun to just mess around with it, haha. Ya mom sent me 3 different kinds of socks. One type I really like. They're like black sport socks and they work really well then she sent tube socks and some really thin dress socks but it works out just fine cuz I just wear the crew socks I have and put the black socks over top. Its very Brasilian but its confortable and my feet don't get too cold.

Marla, ya sometimes I wish I could read music but more because it opens up your brain to learn something new (or something like that) and less as a - I really wish I could play. I don't know. There are so many Elders that can play and don't (Aaa-- cuz they aren't very good Or because they're shy) and that I don't really feel like I need to because I'm pretty happy with who I am and who I am doesn't play right now. But I'm still planning on playing at least one song really good so I can get the piano when mom and dad kick the bucket (that is unless they live to see the second coming, haha) that's cool that you guys took around invites to your friends.

Jen, Ok so here is what happened. We went up to Mafra to work with the Elders there and at the end of the night we were at this member's house eating and the daughter was talking to Klint online he lives in Gilbert and he knows some of the same people that I know so I just talked to him and he was like hey do you want me to call your mom and I was like sure and gave him our number and told him to send my love.

Representative of Christ

We didn't get transferred and real transfers will be on the 5 of Aug so we will just have to wait to see what happens with that. I know that I will be getting a new com at the very least (Elder Pack will be training for his last 2 transfers and probably going to the Island).(The Island is the Mission Home in Florianopolis)


Yesterday was zone conference. The assistants gave a training on desire. They said that many of us do the actions without a true desire and that if we were working with more desire we would be able to get the converts. What we want really depends on the desires of our heart. Prez told us that we were "powerful" and that as a mission we’re ahead of the curve. The prophet is going to change a few things about all the missions because missionaries are going home and falling away from the church. Some missionaries were going through their whole missions without being able to tell whether or not they had the spirit with them when they taught. There were many missionaries that couldn't look to their investigators and say "...these feelings that you're feeling now, these feelings of peace and love that you can feel in your heart at this moment are the feelings of the Holy Ghost. They are testifying to you at this moment that this is true." Some missionaries don't know how to promises someone as a Representatives of Jesus Christ that they will feel the Spirit or bless people with the authority that all priesthood holders hold.

How blessed was I to come here to this mission. How blessed was I the least of all these that I might testify with the power of God knowing that as Christ's Representative that they Will feel the Spirit. When I think of people going home not knowing what they had, I truly feel sorrow in my heart. I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I know that he died to give me the chance to progress and that through his sacrifice it is possible for me to receive eternal life. I know that the Prophet Joseph Smith was a prophet of God that he received the keys of this priesthood and that he had the right to those keys and I know that through the priesthood, the power of God, I can bless a child and he will be cured. This is my testimony that I give as a Representative of Christ in the name of our savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
