Dear Family,
We received the following letter yesterday from Michael's Mission President dated November 11, 2010:
Dear Millyard Family,
Thank you for preparing such a wonderful son. He is a great missionary and a fine young man. It is with pleasure we inform you that your son has been assigned to the counsel of the most trusted and faithful missionaries on the Brazil Florianopolis Mission. He will be serving as a Zone Leader in the Joinville Sul Zone. Zone Leaders provide the example, training and enthusiasm that keeps the mission headed in the right direction. In other words, they provide the vision of the work for the rest of the missionaries. Only the very best missionaries have the capacity to serve as Zone Leaders. The extra work load is tremendous, and they are still expected to bring souls unto Christ through baptism. Your son's resonsibilities will include training all missionaries in his zone (eight to ten missionaries), conducting zone meetings, conducting baptismal interviews, solving problems within his zone, and informing the president of serious problems that may exist. He will also have the opportunity of working closely with the local stake or district president. We are overjoyed to have your son as a member of this elite group of leaders in the mission. We know that he will execute this reponsibility with the same degree of faith and diligence he has demonstrated in every other assignment and responsibility he has been given during his mission.
Thank you again. You have a wonderful son. We love him, and we know that the Lord loves him. We will continue to care for him, please continue to communicate with him. Letters are very important to full time missionaries, even the most elite! He is in the Lord's care.
